Waterfront
Troops will have the opportunity to explore SUNY Martime's waterfront
Fire Fighting
Every mariner must take a basic shipboard firefighting course. Scouts will get to put on the firefighting gear and handle firefighting equipment.
Salty Knots
Monkey's Fist
A traditional nautical knot, the Monkey's Fist is still used today as a weight for heaving lines. Each scout will get to tie and take home a 4-turn manila Monkey's Fist.
Carrick Bend
Scouts will tie and take home a small Carrick Bend mat
Campus Tour
Tour the Maritime College Campus, including the academic buildings, gym, fields, waterfront, and fort.
Nautical Movie
Unwind at the end of the day with some popcorn in the auditorium
Teambuilding
Scouts will compete with other troops in a series of nautically themed events such as the ice-water shackle challenge.
